The Golden State Warriors are less than one calendar year away from winning an NBA championship, and that team is still largely intact. There is a reasonable argument to be made for the franchise to stay the course this summer, keep the group together, and make another run at the title next season.
Yet the Warriors are also less than a month away from losing in six games to a Los Angeles Lakers team that then went on to be swept by the Denver Nuggets. Steve Kerr was proven right when he said that this roster was maxed out.
