Again, D’Angelo Russell is having a career year. He’s exploded in his first season with the Golden State Warriors, averaging 24.0 points per game. Numbers-wise, this has been the best season of his career.
Even with that being the case, rumors have been surrounding Russell, who is under contract for the next three seasons. It’s really because his fit with the team just isn’t quintessential on the surface level.
The Warriors already have a superstar scoring guard that isn’t a great defender. Then, they have a shooting guard that makes up for his every weakness. Adding another isolation-heavy player in the backcourt isn’t necessarily ideal.
