It has been roughly eight months since Klay Thompson hit the deck with a torn ACL in the midst of a run for the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals. The five-time All-Star has been sidelined ever since and should officially be ruled out for this season.
Earlier in the year, Thompson told reporters that he would be happy to play this season but will remain patient. With less than 30 games remaining in the season, the Warriors would be better off sitting Thompson.
ACL injuries can be career-threatening. Even though Thompson’s playstyle relies more on skill than athleticism, there is no doubt that it takes a ton of lateral quickness for him to be as effective as he is on defense.
