The Golden State Warriors secured a 111-95 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on opening night on Tuesday, and it was almost like they’d never been away.

Stephen Curry ended the game with 40 points, seven assists and six rebounds on a memorable night for the franchise as they enjoyed the ring ceremony prior to tip-off, but it was the performance on the court that followed it that impressed the most. Naturally, it wasn’t a perfect display from both an individual or collective point of view, and for the Los Angeles Clippers it was another excuse to suggest that the Warriors were lucky given the injuries that the Pelicans had to deal with going into the game.
