The Western Conference somehow got even deeper this offseason. Several teams, many of which were already borderline contenders, stepped up their game. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors took a step back.
The Warriors are still one of the best team in the West. They should even still be considered one of the premier teams in the entire NBA. However, their sixth-straight Finals appearance is certainly going to be in jeopardy.
For Golden State, they made out just about as well as they possibly could have this offseason. They saw Kevin Durant, who would’ve been out the entire season anyway, leave for Brooklyn, but in return, they secure 23-year-old All-Star D’Angelo Russell.
