Losing a player such as Kevin Durant is tough. The Golden State Warriors felt the immense pressure of replacing a two-time Finals MVP and NBA superstar immediately. Acting quickly, the front office scrambled to put together a deal that would ship D’Angelo Russell to the team.
At first, this seemed like damage control. A 22-year old All-Star is certainly a nice addition to any franchise but the expense of losing Durant was far too much to overcome. However, now, we can see that the Warriors may have been lucky to lose KD when they did.
