Building an 18,000-seat arena in San Francisco has its challenges, no matter who’s paying for it or where it’s being constructed.
The Golden State Warriors, though, may have cleared a hurdle last week when UCSF announced its support of the proposed arena at Mission Bay.
The university had voiced its opposition to the Warriors’ new arena because of the traffic impact on its medical center on game nights, especially when there are dual events at AT&T Park and the arena. UCSF Medical Center is located close to both stadiums.
However, the agreement is contingent on a traffic plan for dual or large events.
