After joining the Golden State Warriors in 2016, Kevin Durant was supposedly asked to take a backseat to the Big 3. In some aspects, it’s been the Big 3 taking a backseat to Kevin Durant, who has been dominant to start the season.
Durant just lit up the Orlando Magic for 49 points, a season-high for 6-foot-10 forward. He’s the only Warrior with two 40-point performances this season. Durant doesn’t even just two though, he’s hit 40+ three times. Playing in all 22 games, Durant is an early-season MVP candidate.
Around the league, Durant ranks second in points per game.
