After about six hours of free agency, the Golden State Warriors got involved in all the chaos. They traded for D’Angelo Russell in a deal that also brought Shabazz Napier to Golden State. However, the casualty in this trade was Andre Iguodala.
Iguodala was directly impacted by this deal. Being forced to clear cap space, the Warriors traded Iggy to the Grizzlies for a future first-round pick. It was a sad but necessary move for general manager Bob Myers.
Myers, for now, will be commended of the job he did this offseason. He’ll be even more praised if the Lakers strike out on a third max-level free agent.
