Led by Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors are heading to their fifth consecutive NBA Finals. The two-time MVP has had plenty of spectacular seasons during this run, but this one has been different than the rest.
When Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors, it seemed like we had seen the end of Curry in his prime. While Curry could still be highly effective, his numbers would always be minimized by the presence of Durant. The likelihood of a 2016 type season from Curry happening again was slim.
However, with Durant down due to injury, Curry was asked to step up and recreate the magic he once performed.
