The Cleveland Cavaliers and JR Smith are clearly not on the same page. The veteran doesn’t want to play for a team that’s not going to compete. The Golden State Warriors could save the sharpshooter, but it wouldn’t be so they could play Smith 20 minutes per game.
Smith has yet to play for the Cavs in 2019, and it doesn’t seem he will play anytime soon. He should be a cheap target for the Warriors, especially given his reluctance to be on the Cavaliers dismal roster.
The Warriors could actually use a backup shooting guard. In his mere 11 games, Smith has averaged under seven points per game and hasn’t shot well from the floor.
