My 30 years of being a Warriors fan should have prepared me for this moment. They didn’t. All the frustration gave me no hint of how this joy would feel. All the times things went completely wrong taught me nothing about what it’s like when everything goes right. It turns out that having your hopes dashed again and again does not help you respond when a dream comes true. I’m at a loss. This is overwhelming, beautiful and new. When the buzzer sounded, all I could do was smile, laugh and shake my head. When I made my way to the floor for the trophy ceremony, I was wandering around in a daze.
