Basketball Hall of Famer and former Celtics great JoJo White, who spent two seasons with the Warriors, died Tuesday after a battle with cancer. He was 71.
White was a seven-time NBA All-Star who helped the Celtics to two NBA titles, including in 1976 when he was named the NBA Finals MVP in Boston’s win over Phoenix.
After spending 10 seasons with the Celtics, Boston traded him to the Warriors in the middle of the 1978-79 season for a No. 1 pick. The shooting guard averaged 10.5 points per game for Golden State while playing in 107 games over two seasons.
