For Warriors, fewer games likely means faster pace

Small ball lives.

The Warriors scaled back a bit on their “small lineup” during their recent two-week road trip, but expect to see more of this center-less concoction over the next two weeks. Even without forward Harrison Barnes, still recovering from his sprained ankle, interim head coach Luke Walton embraces the idea of occasionally going small.

Walton knows his team’s schedule helps: The Warriors play only five games in the next 14 days, all at home and none back-to-back.

“We didn’t go to that small lineup as much on the trip because of how draining it is,” Walton said Tuesday.
