The Golden State Warriors returned home last night to Chase Center and played their first game in over 400 days with fans in the building. In a world still gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Warriors are not immune; in fact, two key rotation players in Kent Bazemore and Damion Lee are going to be out for over a week each as they work through the NBA’s Health and Safety protocols. As California starts to hit desirable thresholds for vaccine doses administered, and with the Warriors pulling out all the stops (even going so far as to send COVID-19 test kits to people who purchased tickets far enough in advance) to get people into the building as safely as possible, for an evening, at least, it felt like things were back to normal.
