Many high-profile sports figures, including Warriors coach Steve Kerr and LeBron James, took to social media to show their outrage over George Floyd’s death, which happened after he was pinned down by police in Minneapolis.
But the death of the 46-year-old Floyd that ignited a nationwide controversy was much more personal for former Warriors star Stephen Jackson.
Growing up together in the Houston area, Jackson and Floyd looked so much like each other that the two close friends called each other “Twin.” They’ve remained close over the years, which is why Floyd’s death on Monday was so devastating for the former Warrior.
