Jacob Evans, whom the Warriors selected with the 28th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, split last season playing between Golden State and their G League affiliate in Santa Cruz as a combo guard. Though his playing time was limited at the NBA-level (204 minutes over 30 games), the 22-year-old provided consistent output in all facets of the game while with the Sea Dubs: 11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks.
However, after the injury to Klay Thompson in last season’s NBA Finals, the Dubs were in need of extra support in the backcourt.
