SAN FRANCISCO — With the sudden litany of injuries that have hit Golden State’s centers in recent days, coach Steve Kerr may have to get creative with his in-house options.
How creative? Try the retirement drawer.
“Zaza … it’s not even close,” Kerr said when asked if he’d run out team consultant Zaza Pachulia or assistant coach Jarron Collins.
The light-hearted moment juxtaposed the daunting nature of the Warriors’ current situation at center.
Following Wednesday’s practice, Kerr announced that Kevon Looney (hamstring) and Alen Smailagiu0107 (ankle) both sustained injuries, the latter’s ailment resulting in Kerr canceling the rest of practice.
