The U.S. men's national team topped Venezuela 113-to-69, fending off the upset-minded team en route to their second dominant victory in the 2016 Olympic Games. Warriors forward Kevin Durant was once again an important figure for Team USA, scoring the team's first seven points to begin the contest. He finished the game going a perfect five-for-five from the field, including two made three-pointers, for a total of 16 points. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson each played significant minutes, but their scoring abilities were not needed as the Americans kept the Venezuelan squad at bay in a well-rounded team effort.
