NEW YORK -- Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and New York Knicks forward Michael Beasley are childhood friends from Prince George County, Maryland. They played on the same AAU team and the same high school team. They both chose a Big 12 college, they both were named the conference players of the year as freshmen, and they both were No. 2 picks in back-to-back NBA draft following their lone collegiate seasons.
Since then, their careers have taken different paths. Durant has become an NBA champion and league MVP. Beasley has played for six NBA teams with two stints in China.
