OAKLAND — Draymond Green needs some good news and got some Wednesday — he was named to the NBA's All-Defensive first team for the second straight season.
Green joined former center Nate Thurmond as the only Warriors players to be named to the all-defensive first unit on multiple occasions, and became the first Golden State player to do so in back-to-back years.Green was runner-up to San Antonio's Kahwi Leonard for NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and received the second most votes for the league's defensive team. Leonard received 130 first-place votes and 260 overall while Green received 123 first-place votes and 251 total.
