For the first time in his career, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been named NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
Green beat out Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert and San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard, who won the award each of the past two seasons, during Monday's NBA Awards.
Leonard and Green finished 1-2 in Defensive Player of the Year voting each of the past two seasons. This marks the first time Green has gotten the better of Leonard, and it's a well-deserved honor for the Warriors star.
