The third quarter of Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals looked a lot like the fourth quarter of Game 1.
The Boston Celtics were getting wide-open looks from three-point range and burying those shots, while the Golden State Warriors looked generally discombobulated on both ends of the floor. In the third quarter of Game 5, the Celtics made eight straight three-pointers and finished the period 8-for-9 from beyond the arc.
Unlike Game 1, however, the Warriors eventually stopped the bleeding and retook control of the game. While speaking on his new podcast after the game, Draymond Green offered an interesting theory as to why the Warriors were able to easily reverse their fortunes in a way they couldn't in Game 1.
