Having the “best” team of all-time, the Golden State Warriors weren’t able to win the NBA Finals after taking a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. They won 73 games that season, a streak that had many thinking the team just ran out of gas.
Immediately following that 3-1 comeback, the Golden State Warriors started to recruit again. This time, they brought in four-time scoring champion and former MVP Kevin Durant. Adding a four-time scoring champion in his prime has to create a more fierce animal, right?
Well, it did, but that 2016-2017 team nor the 2017-2018 one came nowhere near the 73-win mark.
