Neither the Warriors’ late-season woes nor the absence of Stephen Curry seems to matter right now to some Las Vegas oddsmakers, who still believe Golden State will repeat as NBA champions.
Bovada’s odds show the Warriors as the slight favorites over the Rockets as the playoffs get started Saturday with the Spurs coming to Oakland for a noon game. The Warriors’ odds are 7/5, while the Rockets are at 8/5.
Westgate Las Vegas is hedging its bets, listing both the Warriors and Rockets as 6-5.
Of course, the Warriors “disappointing” 58-win season has hurt their chances for another title in the oddsmakers’ eyes — Bovada had the Warriors as 5/8 favorites before the season.
