When DeMarcus Cousins first called Warriors General Manager Bob Myers to ask about joining the team, Cousins says Myers asked five times if it was a prank.
In an op-ed for The Player's Tribune, "Boogie" Cousins said he asked his agent to organize a phone call with the Golden State Warriors after not hearing from the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency.
"When it was clear I couldn't stay in New Orleans, I went out and created what would end up being the best opportunity for myself," Cousins wrote. "I asked my agent to set up a call with the Warriors.
