OAKLAND – The unpleasant memories struck DeMarcus Cousins as soon as Kevin Durant fell to the ground. It lingered when Durant hobbled off the court. And then it reemerged later when Cousins entered the locker room.
“I saw K and saw the emotion on his face, I know the feeling,” Cousins said. “I was the same exact way. It’s unfortunate. It’s a very unfortunate situation.”
It is an unfortunate situation that Cousins would rather forget. He cannot, though. Durant ruptured his right Achilles tendon against Toronto in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday.
