Twelve-year veteran David West declined a $12.2 million player option with the Indiana Pacers for next season, and the former All-Star is willing to take a huge pay cut to join a championship contender. What better team to join than the World Champion Golden State Warriors?
West would fit in well with Golden State. His ability to operate in the low post and elbow area would give the Warriors an offensive option to go to when their shooters go cold (see West Conference. Semifinals vs. Grizzlies, NBA Finals vs. Cavaliers), instead of hoisting threes, waiting for them to fall in.
