Shed no tears for D’Angelo Russell. He made out just fine.
Not so much at the beginning of his Warriors experience. That couldn’t be helped. A magnificent basketball team was being dismantled, one ligament at a time. Figuratively speaking, as Russell first walked into the team’s locker room, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson were being wheeled out. Shaun Livingston had retired. Andre Iguodala was placed in stasis.

I don’t recall many banners in Russell’s honor when he reached the Bay Area. Did he receive a laurel and hardy handshake? I do remember the question of the week that was first articulated his first week in town: Does he stay, or does he go?
