Curry received PRP injection for recovering knee ligament

Stephen Curry is working his way back to action from a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee.

The NBA MVP received a platelet-rich plasma injection as part of his treatment, CSNBayArea.com has confirmed.

Curry received the injection "on the second day of his recover process," according to The Bay Area News Group, which was first to report the news.

PRP is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets and it is injected into the injured area to stimulate healing.

Curry, 28, played less than 20 minutes of Game 1 against the Rockets on April 16, totaling 24 points and seven rebounds before he injured his ankle.
