Curry breaks shooting slump just in time for Warriors after Durant’s Game 5 exit

OAKLAND — Kevin Durant was in the locker room, nursing a strained right calf. He wasn’t coming back in Game 5.

Steph Curry was scuffling and the Houston Rockets were coming hard.

And then, just when it appeared the Warriors would not have enough to hold off the Rockets, Curry put his fingerprints all over a 104-99 victory.

He scored 12 points, including a couple 3-pointers, dished three assists and had no turnovers in the fourth quarter, and the Warriors will take a 3-2 lead to Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals Friday night in Houston.
