In a perfect world, the Golden State Warriors’ attention would be solely on game-planning and otherwise getting their minds right for the upcoming jittery offensive onslaught of their first-round opponents, the redeemed Sacramento Kings. That’s what this is supposed to all be about, after all. Doing the job of winning basketball games and so forth.
But the not-so-subtle subtext of this upcoming playoff run is an implied final referendum on a massively successful era of dominance that, let’s be clear, will never, ever happen again.
