This was supposed to be an easy recap to write. The Warriors were locked in and focused, ready to put this first round series to bed. A dominant first half segued nicely into a wonderful start to the third quarter, where the Dubs’ lead ballooned to a seemingly unassailable 31 points. The only wart on this comfortable victory would be DeMarcus Cousins’ devastating first quarter injury, one that leaves his postseason hanging in the balance. Instead, the Warriors collapsed in totality. Behind brilliant performances from up and down their roster, and a vintage Warriors-killing performance from Lou Williams, the Clippers pulled out a shocking 135-131 victory, which levels the series at one game apiece and adds insult to the Cousins injury.
