The Golden State Warriors have been off to such an ugly start that head coach Steve Kerr has found himself reaching far outside the NBA for points of comparison. After 50 points from Steph Curry weren’t enough to beat the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, Kerr essentially accused his players of playing pickup ball.
“We lack collective grit,” he said Wednesday night. “And when you don’t have grit, the game is easy for the other team. ... It’s a Drew League game. We’re playing a Drew League game.”
The Drew League, a popular Los Angeles summer pro-am, was not happy with Kerr.
