Cavs select Duke's Jones, trade him to Minnesota for 2 picks (The Associated Press)

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) -- A person familiar with the trade says the Cleveland Cavaliers have selected Duke point guard Tyus Jones with the No. 24 overall pick in the NBA Draft and dealt him to Minnesota for two second-round picks.

The Cavs will receive the Nos. 31 and 36 picks, said the person who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been officially announced.

After the Cavs lost to Golden State in the NBA Finals, general manager David Griffin said he wanted to mimic the Warriors' model and add more versatile playmakers to Cleveland's roster.
