Cavs coach: Draymond Green ‘wanted to send a message’ with flagrant foul

Tyronn Lue thinks Draymond Green was trying to “send a message” to the Cavaliers with his flagrant foul Monday night.

A dirty play, though? Lue isn’t so sure of that.

“Was it a dirty play? I don’t know,” the Cavaliers coach said after practice Wednesday, per ESPN. “Was it a statement? I think so.

He didn’t want to let LeBron get in the open court and get a dunk or layup, and he took a hard foul. He wanted to try to send a message to our team.”

The moment in question is a collision between Green and Cavs star LeBron James in the second quarter of Golden State’s 126-91 win.
