Six years ago, thanks to the NBA lockout, Mike Brown — then the Lakers’ head coach — had plenty of time to discuss basketball with assistant Quin Snyder.
It was during those conversations that Snyder, now the Jazz’s head coach, learned how to best break down the nuances of defensive schemes. Today, he credits Brown — the Warriors’ acting head coach — for helping him build one of the league’s best defenses in Utah.
Brown “was a privilege and a pleasure to work for,” Snyder said before Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals Tuesday night.
