Breaking: Warriors trade D’Angelo Russell to Wolves for Andrew Wiggins

The Golden State Warriors have reportedly traded point guard D’Angelo Russell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for small forward Andrew Wiggins.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the news. The Warriors will also send Jacob Evans III and Omari Spellman to the Wolves, and they’ll receive Minnesota’s 2021 first-round draft pick (top-three protected) and 2022 second-round pick.

Timberwolves 2021 pick protected to No. 3, and becomes unprotected in 2022, per sources. Minnesota kept pushing for Russell, who it has wanted since summer free agency and finally got the point guard Gerssson Rosas imagined pairing with KAT.
