OAKLAND — The Blazers are hoping to get injured center Jusuf Nurkic back at some point in the Warriors series, but it won’t be for the start.
Nurkic will miss Game 1 on Sunday afternoon in Oracle Arena, the team announced pregame. The burly 22-year-old impact center has missed the past couple weeks after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his right leg late in the season.
“How big is it? About 270 and 7 feet,” Steve Kerr said pregame, referring to Nurkic’s weight and height.
Kerr said he expected Nurkic to miss Game 1 because it’s “tough to get back that quickly” without conditioning, but the Warrior coach says he is planning for Nurkic to return in either Game 2 or 3.
