They say David Blatt isn’t a terribly popular figure in NBA coaching circles. Count Steve Kerr among the believers — he had Blatt lined up for the Warriors’ staff before Cleveland’s top job came open — but there are those who resent the notion of a coach coming over from Europe, with no NBA experience, and inheriting LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.
