Happy Labor Day! This is part 3 of Fast Break’s free agency recap series. Last time around, we covered the surprise resigning of Kevon Looney, considered an almost certain cap casualty as a result of the Kevin Durant/D’Angelo Russell sign-and-trade. In this edition, we’ll focus on a pair of separate moves that totally reshaped the big man rotation. As per convention, we’ll grade these moves on all of our usual axes.
The move: The Warriors sign free agent center Willie Cauley-Stein to a two-year, $4.4 million contract.
The grade: A- (A for effort, B+ for results, A for value)
Analysis: An overall very solid move for the Warriors.
