Back from break, Warriors look to remedy slow starts

To help ease his four All-Stars back into the regular-season grind, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave them two days off after Sunday’s All-Star Game.

Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson won’t return to practice until 5 p.m. Wednesday, 24 hours after many of their teammates slogged through an optional workout. Kerr’s hope was that, by affording each of his players enough time for a mini-vacation, Golden State would enter Thursday night’s game against the Clippers mentally and physically refreshed.

“It’s just rejuvenation,” Kerr said. “I know as a player, even though our All-Star break was much shorter, it was still three days of sitting on a beach or hanging out.
