In an interview Friday on The Dan Patrick Show, Allen, retired since 2014, took umbrage with Patrick’s suggestion he may no longer be the greatest shooter of all time.
“It doesn’t have to change. You could still call me that,” Allen told the host, butting in before Patrick could even ask his first question.
Statistically speaking, it’s tough to say Allen has a case. Allen’s career 2,973 triples came in 1,300 games, over the course of 18 seasons. Curry, meanwhile, currently has 2,964 triples. He will likely break Allen’s record in just 787 or 788 games, depending on how he plays.
