Everything about this contest reeked of a classic trap game. A two day layoff, including a Saturday night spent in Los Angeles. A monster matchup against the Phoenix Suns, winners of 16 straight games, on Tuesday, something which even the most focused player couldn’t resist the urge to look ahead to. A bright-and-early 12:30 pm tipoff. And, of course, a game at Staples Center, which has been a house of horrors for Stephen Curry over the years (although, as folks have pointed out to me, that typically happens against the Lakers, not the Clippers). Add all that up and most fans tuned into today’s game with some trepidation.
