Warriors forward Andre Iguodala will start in place of Kevin Durant in Wednesday night’s game against Minnesota, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said.
Iguodala, 33, is no stranger to starting. In 759 of his 986 career games, Iguodala has been in the starting lineup. Still, he will start just his second regular-season game Wednesday since the beginning of the 2014-15 season.
It doesn’t figure to be an extended stay with the first unit. Kerr said that Durant, sidelined by a left thigh contusion, would be playing if it were the playoffs. He is expected to be day-to-day moving forward.
