Golden State Warriors big man Anderson Varejao is likely to miss the upcoming Olympics in his native Brazil due to a back injury, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that, after a Monday examination in Los Angeles by noted back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins, it's been recommended to Varejao that he skip the Olympics.
The injury is not expected to threaten Varejao's availability for next season, sources say, after the 33-year-old recently re-signed a one-year deal to return to the Warriors.
