Steve Kerr is a good coach. He must be, since he’s collected four NBA championships from his seat on the bench, including one in his very first year coaching professionally. Conventional wisdom would rank Kerr among the all-time greats. And yet, ask a large swath of the Golden State fandom their feelings about Kerr, and you’re likely to get several different answers, many of them conflicted: Yes, he’s admired and appreciated, but he’s also a fairly constant source of frustration. In his role as head coach of the national team representing the United States in the Olympics, the world is getting a firsthand peek of the version of Kerr that we Warriors fans are already so familiar with.
