On the eve of the NBA Finals, Warriors acting head coach Mike Brown is working under the assumption that he’ll coach in Game 1 on Thursday at Oracle Arena.
“He does seem like he’s getting better, but I’m going to keep coaching until he says he can or can’t do it,” Brown said Wednesday at the Finals’ media day. “But he hasn’t told me either way right now.”
All signs point to Kerr not coaching in Game 1. Though well enough to travel with the team, participate in coaches’ meetings and do some on-court coaching in practices, he is still dealing with chronic head and neck pain stemming from a botched back surgery two years ago.
