OAKLAND — The carrot of facing their closest challenger in the Western Conference provided tangible motivation for the Warriors.
Now, coming off a 122-105 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, the Warriors hope to generate the same level of performance for the final 17 regular-season games leading into the playoffs.
“That’s the goal,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Saturday. “I think everybody on our team felt like (Friday) night we were going to bring it.
“Denver was a game behind us and (with us) coming off that embarrassing loss to Boston, I think everybody knew the energy would be there.
