After first day of NBA free agency, Warriors thinking ahead to 2020-221 season

It only took one day of NBA free agency for the Warriors to change their identity.

They lost arguably the NBA’s best player after Kevin Durant left for the Brooklyn Nets. They lost one of their most reliable playmakers, defenders and locker room voices after dealing Andre Iguodala and a future first-round pick to Memphis just to dump salary. And the Warriors acquired D’Angelo Russell as a main piece in a sign-and-trade with Brooklyn, a signature asset that changes the team’s backcourt identity both for better and for worse.

Things remain fluid with varying moving parts.
